Job Description

Where precision meets creativity on every plate — bring your sushi artistry to life in a professional hotel kitchen as our next Sushi Chef.

The Sushi Chef is responsible for preparing, presenting, and maintaining high-quality sushi and Japanese-inspired dishes in accordance with hotel standards.The Sushi Chef will contribute to delivering an outstanding dining experience while ensuring consistency, quality, and operational excellence.

  • Prepare and present high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to hotel standards.
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and attractive presentation at all times.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Manage and monitor stock levels, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
  • Minimize food waste and support cost-control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Provide an exceptional dining experience by meeting guest expectations and handling special requests where possible.
  • Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Monitor and maintain sushi preparation equipment and ensure all tools are used and stored correctly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovative sushi techniques to enhance menu

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience as a Sushi Chef
  • Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and Japanese cuisine.
  • Experience handling and preparing raw fish and seafood.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Passion for culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
