Manager – Housekeeping:
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage the Housekeeping Department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and presentation across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Develop, implement, and review departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and business strategies to achieve operational excellence and organizational objectives.
Recommend and implement improvements in housekeeping methods, equipment, staffing, and operational processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service quality.
Establish and maintain aesthetic and quality standards for housekeeping products, guest amenities, and services in line with brand standards.
Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by anticipating guest needs, maintaining attention to detail, respecting guest privacy, and resolving service issues promptly.
Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of guest rooms, public areas, and service areas to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
Monitor departmental performance, analyze operational results, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and statutory regulations while protecting guests, employees, and company assets.
Plan manpower requirements based on occupancy forecasts and prepare efficient duty rosters to maximize productivity and service delivery.
Recruit, train, mentor, coach, and evaluate housekeeping associates to build a high-performing and engaged team.
Conduct performance appraisals, provide regular feedback, and implement employee development and succession planning initiatives.
Oversee inventory planning, procurement, storage, issuance, and cost control of linens, guest amenities, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and operating supplies.
Manage in-house and outsourced laundry operations to ensure quality, timely service, and cost efficiency.
Coordinate closely with the Front Office Department to ensure timely room availability and accurate room status updates.
Liaise with the Engineering Department to ensure prompt maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and housekeeping equipment.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities for operational savings.
Ensure compliance with brand standards, quality assurance requirements, and hotel policies through regular monitoring and audits.
Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, guest focus, and continuous improvement within the department.
Prepare and review departmental reports, including productivity, quality audits, inventory, guest feedback, and operational performance, and present recommendations to senior management.
