PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:
The Front Office Manager will be responsible for the strategic initiatives of the Front Office Department tied to business expansion, growth, and the necessary cultural evolution to support both. The function should be supportive, proactive, analytical and entrepreneurial; creating memorable moments for our guests and fostering an empowered environment for the team whilst working closely with all key business partners in order to achieve quality results. The job incumbent acts as an ambassador for the brand, reflecting the company culture and values. All work is carried out in accordance with company corporate policies, procedures and service concepts according to local requirements and regulations.
MAIN REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:
- Ensure the smooth running of the front office department, where all aspects of the guest journey and experience are delivered to the highest level, ensuring both property and company standards are attained and adhered to.
- Working proactively to maximize guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and responsive approach to enquiries and problem resolution.
- Develops and implements strategies where key front office metrics are identified, communicated and delivered where reports and tracking tools are effectively maintained in line with defined initiatives & targets.
- Effectively manages the life cycle of the team within the department, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance whilst reflecting promoting the company culture and values.
- Prepares and is responsible for the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and departmental inventory is controlled and that target productivity and performance levels are attained
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders and partners both internal and external ensuring all communications/activities are controlled and undertaken in a timely manner.
- Establish and deliver an effective planned guest engagement programme, including environmental and conservation matters, which may include working with internal and external stakeholders on adhoc projects.
- Ensures adherence to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required
MANAGING FRONT OFFICE TEAM
- Manages & Supervises the Front Office team Operations
- Utilises leadership skills and motivation to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction
- Challenges employees within Department to achieve optimum revenue and service per employee
- Monitors department’s overall service, interaction with other departments, and team work daily, and takes action to improve
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Hospitality Qualification or equivalent is advantageous
- 3-5 Years Experience in a Service Manager / Leader role in a similar operation
- Must Display absolute passion for Guest Service
- Possess and outstanding aptitude for Front Office
- Must be able to work shifts
- Full knowledge and experience of at least 3 years in the same or similar position within Hospitality sector
- Well-groomed and excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Flexible and able to work late depending on client’s requirements
- Yes! I Can! Attitude
- Complete understanding of Opera PMS system
- Able to operationally work shift/s
- Effective leaderships and management skills and strong team building capabilities
- Assertive, dynamic and the ability to consolidate the entire Front Office Department, operate a profitable, productive and efficient operation & enabled to drive business requirements
- Flair for the different clientele and the ability to respond to every guest need
- Flexibility and hands on approach an inherent requirement
- Fluent in English
- Excellent communication skills and guest service skills essential
- Must be computer literate- minimum MS Office, Excel, Internet and Opera
- Must have a good Yes I Can! Attitude
- Good organizational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Micros experience would be advantageous
- Impeccable attendance and no disciplinary record
