Job Description

  • Provides value added service to customers by doing whatever is reasonable and possible to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Communicates effectively with customers, co-workers and Supervisors.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by co-operating and assisting co-workers as needed.
  • Meets Yes I Can! Service standards.
  • Attends work on time as scheduled.
  • Follows hotel standards regarding personal hygiene.
  • Minimizes dangers by following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Completes air conditioning and refrigeration work as per Maintenance Repair Order.
  • Carries out preventive maintenance as scheduled.
  • Monitors performance and adjusts air conditioning and refrigeration equipment to obtain maximum efficiency.
  • Installs new equipment when required.
  • Responds to guest and hotel staff reports on non-functioning equipment immediately, and works in-line with the “no excuse guarantee” service concept
  • Prepares installations, repair and maintains all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in the hotel.
  • Performs repairs and routine maintenance in guest rooms’ air conditioning system.
  • Performs repairs and routine maintenance on walk-in-coolers, fridge, ice machine, water coolers, cabinet cooler, and other refrigeration equipment.
  • Performs repairs and routine maintenance on chillers, package units, splits units, heat exchangers, and chilling units.
  • Performs routine tour to all plant rooms to check AHU units, cooling tower performance adding of chemicals and reports immediately of any findings.
  • Performs routine air conditions condenser cleaning.
  • Performs air condition filters cleaning throughout the hotel.
  • Attends training to remain current on proper techniques.
  • Suggest cost saving ideas as and when possible, and actively participates and contributes to the energy conservation program of the hotel.
  • Performs any other duties asked by the Supervisor
  • Maintains high confidentiality.
  • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately.
  • Fully understands and implements where necessary the Hotel’s fire, emergency and bomb procedures.
  • Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
  • Supports a safe Hotel by applying Hotel regulations and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
  • Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct.
  • Informs and updates the Chief Engineer on problems and unusual matters.
  • Attends meetings and training as required by the Chief Engineer.
  • Assists colleagues when needed.
  • Ensures guest satisfaction by performing duties such as attending to their requests and enquiries courteously and promptly.
  • Accepts flexible working schedule when necessary for the Hotel’s uninterrupted service

Qualifications

- Experience in property maintenance beneficial but not essential
-Hands-on approach with a can-do work style
-Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
-Ability to find creative solutions taking ownership for duties and tasks assigned
-Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence
-Strong communication skills
