The Security, Safety, and Environment Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property at the Radisson Blu Resort. This role involves developing and implementing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, and overseeing security personnel. Together, we make Every Moment Matter.


Job Description

We are currently seeking a Security, Safety, and Environment Manager to join our vibrant team. Skills and Experience:  

As a Security Head of Department, you bring a heightened sense of vigilance, a commitment to maintaining a secure environment, and a passion for ensuring the safety of our guests and staff to our dedicated Security Team. Your role is crucial in upholding the highest standards of security and safeguarding the well-being of everyone within our hotel premises.

  • Security Operations: Oversee daily security operations, ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of security personnel, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Incident Response: Investigate incidents, such as theft, guest disturbances, or security breaches, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with hotel departments (e.g., Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B) to ensure seamless security operations.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide security training to hotel staff, ensuring they are aware of security procedures and protocols.
  • Budget Management: Manage security budgets, resources, and vendors, ensuring cost-effective solutions, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Radisson's security policies, local laws, and regulations.
  • VIP Security: Ensure the security and safety of VIP guests, dignitaries, and high-profile events.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance security operations.
  • Ensures the smooth running of the safety & security department, where all aspects of safety & security are maintained to the highest levels.
  • Works proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries.
  • Develops and implements plans where safety & security initiatives & hotel targets are achieved.
  • Leads and manages the safety & security team, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance within the department.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Establishes and delivers an effective safety & security programme which includes environmental and conservation matters.
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered, and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, or a related field.
  • Proven minimum 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Additional certifications in security and emergency management are a plus.
  • ISO 14001, ISO 45001, NEBOSH, or OSHA certifications are desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Proficient in surveillance systems and security technology.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
  • Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations.
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy.
