- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department appearance standards.
- To provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
- Ensure correct spares are used for all job’s requirements.
- Daily cleaning of workshops, maintaining log books and initiating necessary follow-up with any pending requests.
- Ensures that the related areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
- Complete work orders as requested by the Coordinator / Supervisor to meet operational needs.
- Involve and carryout any project work required throughout the hotel.
- Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel
- Carry out the preventative maintenance as per given guidelines to the satisfaction of the department
- Ensure all PPM is completed in a timely manner and as and when required by the department.
- Carries out routine maintenance and repairs to all types of laundry equipment, air compressors, kitchen equipment, heating, ventilation and refrigeration equipment cold rooms equipment including pumps, motors and controls, fans.
- Demonstrate flexibility in changing the shifts and continue extended duties as per the necessity in event of emergencies and as requested by the department.
- Complete work orders as requested by the supervisor / senior manager on duty to meet operational needs.
- Carry Samfex phone at all times with allotted Dect phone and ensure to complete all delegated Samfex requests timely without failure.
- Responds to a Samfex and guest maintenance request within 15 minutes on receipt of the same.
- Any Samfex that is in need of major repairs this should be reported to the Maintenance supervisor and the senior manager on duty.
- Involve and carryout any project work required throughout the hotel.
- Attends to all types MEP repair and maintenance works in the hotel premises, including any new additional/extensions to the hotel or any other properties maintained by the hotel.
- Report any damages / maintenance requirements / suspected abuse of equipment / Fire Life safety / negligence / arson to the Assistant DOE and or DOE immediately
- Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
·3 years’ experience in hotel industry or similar and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Electrical vocational skills.
- Communication skills
- Understanding engineering drawings
Technical Skill Capabilities:
- Servicing of all equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical defects related to Kitchen / Laundry / HVAC / compressors Pumps and motors.
- Troubleshooting and repairs of equipment.
Understanding schematics diagrams and parts manuals
Health and safety:
- Follow the Hotel health and safety policies.
- Practice safe work habits.
- Use protective equipment and clothing, if necessary.
- Inform your employer of any hazards without delay and remove them yourself if it is safe to do so.
- Take care not to interfere with or misuse anything provided for your health, safety or welfare
- Refrain from smoking in undesignated areas
- Protect the environment by saving energy, water and reduce waste
- Ensure Energy saving measures and practices are well maintained and any misuse is immediately reported to be corrected.
- Able to understand and work within Country culture
