Job Description

Radisson Blu Hotel, Maputo is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Indian Chef to lead and elevate our Indian culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in traditional Indian cuisine, with a strong background in international hospitality and renowned Indian restaurants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present authentic Indian dishes including curries, snacks, tandoori items, and traditional breakfast specialties.
  • Design and update Indian menus that reflect regional diversity and seasonal ingredients.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all Indian dishes.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen operations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Indian culinary techniques.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, promotions, and special events.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Indian cuisine, including work in international hotels and renowned Indian restaurants.
  • Mastery in preparing Indian curries, street-style snacks, tandoori items, and breakfast dishes.
  • Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Southeast Asian cuisine is an advantage, but not essential.
