Job Description

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with establish Company Policies and Procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers in the Restaurant as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front and back-of-the-house including all tables, chairs, and floors and working stations.
  • Keeps immediately supervisor, promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matter of significance in the department for quick action.
    • Greet guests at the table promptly after their arrival. Serves them water, bread and butter and also refill the guest’s glass as needed.
    • Keeps discreet eyes on the guests to ensure they are satisfied with the food, drink and service, and also to respond to any other additional requests to determine when the course / meal has been completed.
    • Prepares beverages required for service including, Coffee, Tea, Hot Water etc.
    • Removes dirty dishes and silverware from guest tables between courses and after guests leave’s the table.
    • Replaces used dishes and silverwares for the next course and also resets vacant tables.
    • Restock condiments as needed.
    • Returns dirty dishes, silverwares and glassware to dishwashing area, sorting silverware, glassware and other items, placing them in the prescribed area for proper distribution.
    • During rush hours or periods may assist colleagues in bringing food from the kitchen and serving them.
    • During lower occupancy, polishes silverwares and also fold napkins.
    • Ability to rotate throughout each of the Food & Drink Department.
    • Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene and Health & Safety.
    • Understand and also strictly adhere to the Hotel’s Employee Rules & Regulations.
    • Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
    • Report for duty punctually and also follows the hotel’s grooming and dress standards, thereby wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
    • Performs any other duties which will be assigned to him / her by the department

Qualifications

Customer service skills 

  • Friendly, approachable, and patient

  • Able to handle complaints professionally

  • Good communication and active listening

  • Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently

  • Work well under pressure, especially during busy hours

  • Coordinate with kitchen and other staff

  • Support coworkers when needed
